The kick-off meeting of the project was organized on the 21st and 22nd of January 2019 in Cyprus.
The consortium participated in a challenging new Erasmus+ Project (DIMELI4AC) aiming to promote digital and media literacy for active citizenship among primary and secondary school pupils through game-based learning and our purpose is to create the innovative DIMELI GAME.
The consortium works closely to provide various blended learning opportunities that will empower young students to become responsible, critical, global citizens for the digitalized and connected world we live in while safeguarding democracy and common values.
The first day of the meeting we discussed the social needs of the involved countries which was a result from the National report and the importance of the implementation of this project that will be in the school curriculum. The first two outcomes were presented and the next steps will be to complete the survey and the framework. The second day of the meeting the dissemination activities were presented to raise awarness for the project.
As teachers and parents ‘we need to strengthen children’s and students’ critical thinking and media literacy, so they can judge and overcome the ever-present threats of fake news, cyber bullying, radicalisation, cybersecurity threats and frauds.’ (COM 2018)
